Here is what was left after the second pull on the old tower

This is all ground away

The underside of the frame rail

Part of the extraction process required the use of a air chisel.  This put some valleys in the frame rail.  To correct this, some stitch welds were put on the  rails to fill in the gaps and provide a level surface for the new tower.

More welds on the bottom

The top is then ground down to a smooth surface

As is the bottom

Here is the comparison of the original tower and the replacement tower

The welding surfaces of the replacement tower are cleared of rust to promote a clean weld

On the underside as well

The replacement is fit into place and the welding process begins

Backside view

Welding on the front is complete

Here is the view from the wheel well.  The welds will be ground down to match the factory installation
